1. What We Collect

When you create an account and use Gerald, we collect:

• Account information: your name, email address, and hashed password.
• Portfolio data: stock positions, entry prices, and notes you voluntarily enter into Gerald's portfolio tracker.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns — collected via Google Analytics.
• Payment information: billing is processed entirely by Stripe. Gerald never stores your card number, CVV, or full payment details.
• Communications: if you contact us via email or the feedback form, we retain that correspondence.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver stock alert emails and platform features you've subscribed to.
• Personalize AI-generated analysis to your portfolio and trading style.
• Process subscription payments and manage billing.
• Send important account notices (trial expiry, billing changes, security alerts).
• Improve the product based on how people actually use it.
• Respond to support requests.

3. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Period.

4. Third-Party Services

Gerald uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Stripe — payment processing. stripe.com/privacy
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics. policies.google.com/privacy
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI analysis of market data. Your personal portfolio data is included in prompts only when you explicitly use AI features (e.g. chat, position analysis).
• Gmail (Google) — email delivery for alerts.

5. Email Communications

By subscribing to Gerald, you consent to receive stock alert emails on weekdays. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or by visiting your account settings. Transactional emails (billing receipts, password resets, security notices) are not affected by unsubscribing from alerts.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on a private server hosted by Hostinger. Passwords are stored as salted hashes — we cannot read your password. We use HTTPS for all web traffic. While we take reasonable security measures, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

7. Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing support@meetgerald.org. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes all stored personal data.

8. Children's Privacy

Gerald is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us to have it removed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify subscribers of material changes by email. Continued use of Gerald after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
